At the beginning of the new semester, the SDU-ANU Joint Science College held series of discussions on the implementation of the current undergraduate programmes with the seniors of each major respectively. Prof. Bai Ming, Vice Dean, presided over the discussions, and the coordinators of the four majors, teachers and student representatives from each major participated in the discussion. Executive Dean, Prof Lv Guangshi attended the session of mathematics major.
At the discussions, Bai Ming listened to the opinions and suggestions on the current undergraduate programmes from the student representatives, had an in-depth exchange with the attendees on the teaching arrangement like principles and methods, and discussed with them the feasible solutions to various problems. At the mathematics and applied mathematics session, Lv Guangshi encouraged the students to read more, understand more and think more when facing the future development so as to find a path suitable for their development by learning from the experience and experiences of others.
From the discussions, the college has learned more of the students’ difficulties and the confusions which help lay a solid foundation for further improvement in education and teaching quality and standard, and also provide important reference for the formulation of the new version of the undergraduate programmes.
