The 2025 fun sports event organized by the Joint Science College (JSC) was successively held on the afternoon of 23 November, aiming to enrich the faculty’s after-class life, promote the interaction between the college students and the ANU visiting teachers, and cultivate a positive and progressive campus atmosphere. Wang Wei, Deputy Party Dean, JSC, teachers from ANU, the college faculty, as well as 2023 cohort students participated in the event.
The sports event, themed around "participation, health, cooperation, and fun," featured a variety of competitive items designed to create a platform for faculty and students to interact. The student competitions focused on teamwork and included games such as tug-of-war, jump rope, rope skipping relay, and the Tower of Hanoi. Eight class teams competed for the group championship through accumulated points. On the field, the tug-of-war demonstrated teamwork, the rope skipping showcased youthful energy, and the Tower of Hanoi tested strategic thinking. These activities highlighted the students' physical fitness, as well as their spirit for self-challenge.
The faculty competition was equally exciting, with fun games such as chopsticks picking up ping pong balls, target throwing, and collaborative ball passing drawing enthusiastic participation from both SDU and ANU faculty members. The teachers were fully focused and worked seamlessly together, with laughter and applause filling the air. These activities not only showcased the positive energy of the teaching staff but also deepened mutual understanding and trust in a relaxing way.
Looking ahead, the college will continue to enhance the role of sports in education, integrating the philosophy of "Studying at Shandong University, Growing Happily" into the entire process of talent development. It will further improve the collaborative education mechanism between the "first classroom" and "second classroom" and advance the deep integration of knowledge imparting, skill developing, and value shaping, so as to inject continuous vitality into the cultivation of well-rounded, future-ready individuals.
