On the afternoon of April 20, 2021, Huang Kainan, Vice President of SDU, Weihai visited SDU-ANU Joint Science College for research and investigation, providing guidance for matters like personnel and talent management. In his company were Huang Jianjun, director of the Personnel Office and other relevant staff of the same office. Leaders of JSC, Party Dean Shan Bingbo, Executive Dean Prof. Lv Guangshi, Vice Deans Prof. Chang Xiaomei and Prof. Bai Ming, and Deputy Party Dean Fan Qixue attended the meeting and made a work report.
At the meeting, the leaders of JSC reported the current work of the college presenting the problems and difficulties encountered in the development process, and fully communicated and exchanged views with the staff of the Personnel Office on such issues as the reform in the personnel system of the college.
Huang Jianjun responded to the issues concerning personnel and talent work, and put forwarded suggestions on professional post setting and bringing in high-quality teachers, etc.
Huang Kainan listened carefully to the reports and views exchanged, and gave his opinions and suggestions on the issues discussed at the meeting. He stressed that building JSC into a high-quality and high-level college was an important measure to implement the SDU’s Internationalisation Strategy and create a new highlight of SDUW‘s development. He said that the college should be more open-minded to deepen the reform of personnel management system, etc. and actively explore a model of developing the Chinese-foreign cooperative education with characteristics. Besides, he suggested that a strategic planning committee should be set up to strengthen the strategic decision-making and improve the administration system of the college so as to promote the development of the college with good quality and high efficiency. He asked the college to focus on the current problems and coordinate with the relevant administration offices to try to solve them together in order to push forward the reform and development of the college.
