SDU-ANU Joint Science College held a meeting with the foreign teachers on May 6, 2022.ProfessorChang Xiaomei, Vice Dean of JSC attended the meeting, together with the academic English teachers Bradley Milner, Greeff Lizelle and4student representatives from four majors of 2020 and 2021 cohorts.
At the meeting, ProfessorChang Xiaomei conveyed her greetings and gratitude to the foreign teachers for their contribution to ensuring the online teaching quality of the college during the difficult time, and for their understanding of and cooperation with the local and the university's epidemic prevention and control measures. The foreign teachers expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the care and help from the college and spoke highly of the faculty and students’ cooperation and standing together to overcome all difficulties. Then they talked about their experiences of fighting against the Covid-19 epidemic and their feelings and thoughts about online teaching. The student representatives also actively interacted with the teachers and shared their interesting stories during that period.
To conclude, ProfessorChang Xiaomei fully acknowledged the foreign teachers’ hard work and their positive role in promoting the teaching and scientific research as well as international exchange and cooperation of the college. She hoped that JSC would further strengthen the cooperation between the college teachers and the foreign teachers to jointly improve the teaching quality. This meeting has enhanced the communication between JSC and the foreign teachers, boosted the foreign teachers’ sense of identity and belonging, and helped the college understand better the students' thoughts as well as their learning and living conditions to strengthen the management work of the students.
