On 23 May, the vice dean of SDU-ANU Joint Science College (JSC), Chang Xiaomei, led a team to visit Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), Weihai for an insightful research and study to effectively implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, learn their successful experience in conducting cooperative education programmes with foreign universities and boost cooperation with Weihai International College to improve and upgrade JSC’s international work.
At BJTU, Weihai, Liu Ying, Dean of the college and other leaders warmly welcomed Chang Xiaomei’s visit. Then she introduced the distinctive characteristics and development plans of the college in terms of its scale, joint programmes, talent cultivation and infrastructure construction, and shared their good experience in international cooperation and teaching operation and management.
Chang Xiaomei expressed her thanks to the hosts for their hospitality and introduced JSC briefly. She said that BJTU, Weihai, as the university’s campus mainly conducting Chinese-foreign cooperative education, has rich faculty resources and internationalised atmosphere, and has achieved good education quality, which can serve as a useful reference for JSC’s internationalisation construction. She hoped that the two colleges will make efforts to enhance collaboration in student exchange and resources sharing.
Then both sides had closer exchanges on bottlenecks and difficulties encountered in student management, building teaching workforce, evaluation of Chinese-foreign cooperative educational institutions by the Chinese Ministry of Education, expanding international cooperation and education informatization.
