To help the 2021 cohort students enhance their self-cognition and better plan their future careers, SDU-ANU Joint Science College (JSC) invited Mr. Lv Peng, a graduate student of the Class of 2016 and an excellent alumnus of Shandong University, Weihai to give a lecture virtually. He is now working as a Secretary of the Youth League Committee in College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Ocean University of China. The lecture was chaired by Mr. Jia Hongfu, an adviser, and attended by the members of “Jinli Mentor Group", consisting of a leader, an adviser, two teachers and a staff member from the college, and 2021 cohort mathematics, physics and chemistry major students virtually.
In his lecture, Lv Peng talked about the importance of career planning. He advised the students to study well at present and plan for their future development. Then he dwelled on three key points, career awareness, career choice and career management. He suggested that they know about themselves and try to be learned and capable to improve their overall quality. He also gave them tips on writing a good resume and encouraged them to take “interest + ability + mission” as a development path to become excellent talents in the new era.
Holding this lecture is to implement the college’s concept of making full use of the teacher resources of “Jinli Mentor Group" and alumni resources, which is not only helpful for the students to recognise their advantages and know their worth, but will also further enhance the holistic education mechanism and lay a solid foundation for the college to cultivate all-round and excellent talents for the new era.
