SDU-ANU Joint Science College (JSC) successfully held the 1st sharing session themed international organization internship and overseas study experience in R. 107, Dianzi Building on the evening of 1 April to broaden the students’ global vision and help them better understand international organization internships and overseas study programmes. Sun Pengcheng, Party Dean and Wang Wei, Deputy Party Dean attended in person.
Sun Haowei, a 2022 cohort biology major student shared his internship experience at the United Nations Human Settlements Programme in the winter vacation with specific work examples as well as his own reflections on the concept of China-Africa community of shared future and the importance of intercultural communication and coordination from an international perspective. From his talk, the audience students have got a profound understanding of the UN-Habitat’s objective and efforts of promoting sustainable development in social and environmental aspects.
Tian Weicheng and Li Yunwen, 2022 cohort physics major and biology major students introduced in detail the application procedure, channel and method to short-term outbound study programmes based on their personal experiences at the University of Oxford. Then, they shared about their study and life there including diet, accommodation and cultural adaptation, vividly describing their experience of orienting themselves to the local life. The three speakers have given the participating students deep insight into the unique value and experience gained from overseas study and intercultural communication.
This sharing session has expanded the students’ international vision and provided them with valuable information resources. It is helpful to the students in planning their academic and career paths better. The college will continue to give full paly to the advantages of the Chinese-foreign cooperative education, and provide the JSC students with broader opportunities for personal growth through various channels.
